Stiff, flat, printed with a logo, built to survive maybe a season before the seams start to go. They do the job. Nobody’s ever described one as beautiful.
We started asking ourselves a simple question: why not? Why does “reusable” have to mean “forgettable”? A grocery bag gets used more than almost anything else you own — it’s in your trunk, your kitchen, your hand at least once a week for years, if it’s made right. If you’re going to carry something that often, shouldn’t it be something you actually like carrying?
That question is where the Country Harvest Carryall came from.
It started as a grocery bag, and we mean that
We didn’t set out to design a fashion tote and call it a grocery bag after the fact. The Country Harvest Carryall was built from the ground up to do exactly what a grocery run needs — a wide, sturdy base that won’t tip over in the trunk, enough depth to hold a real haul, handles built to carry actual weight without digging into your hand, all finished in the same hand-guided diamond quilting and heirloom floral fabric as the rest of our line.
We wanted it to hold up like a workhorse and look like something you’d be glad to set on the kitchen counter instead of shoving in a drawer between trips to the store.
Turns out, people had other plans for it too
Here’s what we didn’t fully expect: we’ve sold a good number of Country Harvest Carryalls to people who have no intention of ever putting a can of tomatoes in them. They wanted a roomy, sturdy everyday tote, and this bag happened to fit the bill — beach days, overnight bags, hauling kids’ stuff, you name it. We think that’s a good sign, honestly. A bag built well enough to handle groceries week after week is more than capable of handling whatever else you throw at it. We just happen to think the grocery run deserves the same quality as everything else you carry.
